Lancaster have had 4 swimmers selected to represent North Lancashire
in the 2008 North West Inter Association Championships in Liverpool on 24/25 May :-

Dynamic Dozen give Lancaster City North Lancs. Swimming success

A Dozen of Lancaster City Swimming Club’s finest represented the team
at this years North Lancashire Age Group championships in Blackpool
recently and collectively swam a total of 53 personal best times as well
as coming away with a series of accolades including 2 gold medals,
2 silver medals, 4 bronze medals and 18 other top six awards.

The swimmers (pictured) included Alisdair Fairhurst who won Gold
when dominated the 100m Breaststroke and achieved medals in
100 Freestyle, 200m Breaststroke and the 200m Individual Medley;
Thomas Manklow, who won Gold in the 50m Breaststroke and Silver
in the 200m Breaststroke; and Lauren Sharkey, who took Bronze in
the 100m an 200m Breaststroke. Adam Bateson, Alisdair Fairhurst
and Kirsty Fairhurst all managed 5th place in their respective BAGCAT
ratings. The other swimmers from Lancaster were: Alex Bradley,
Robert Davidson, Mary Hodgson, George Manklow,
Mathew Rawlinson, Issy Rawlinson and Rhiannon Sharkey.
The Lancaster swimmers demonstrated a great team spirit at the
event with thee youngest swimmers aged only 9 years old finding
great support from the their older team mates.

City Swimmers enjoy Copeland Success.
Lancaster City Swimming Club sent a 38 strong team of 9 to 12 year
olds to the recent Copeland Open swimming meet in Whitehaven,
making them the largest contingent at the event. Despite the rigours
of a lengthy meet the swimmers had considerable success with
almost all swimmers achieving personal best times.

Particular success was achieved by Lauren Sharkey &
Robert Davidson who won the 50m Breaststroke competition
demonstrating once again the club’s strength in that stroke. Lauren
also came 4th in the Individual Medley and 5th in the Freestyle whilst
Robert came 4th in the Butterfly and 6th in the Freestyle.
Luke Saul achieved 2nd place in the Backstroke and Butterfly events
as well as coming 3rd in the Freestyle and 4th in the Breaststroke
and Sam Edwards achieved 4th place in the Freestyle and 5th in the
Individual Medley. Many of the younger swimmers excelled
themselves with new PB times in almost all events providing
promise for future success in this event in the coming years.

29 APRIL 2007 - SUB-LEAGUE HOME MATCH - WE WIN
What a scorcher - too many wins to mention. Lancaster started
with a flurry of firsts and then kept up the pressure until the
victorious end. Thanks to the whole team for impressive swims.

25 MARCH 2007 HOME MATCH - WE WIN ( WAY HAY!)
Another strong outing for this strong team -looking forward to going
back up this year for some challenging A league matches next year.
